Baby Boy Names, What Do You Think?

My husband and I are considering these names, tell me what you think of them or suggest something else.

It's a really early list, just trying to narrow it down.

Baby Boy Names, What Do You Think?
1st - Owen


2nd - Dane


3rd - Hayden


4th - Talon


5th - Lucas


6th - Bennett


7th - Jace


8th - Xander - Alexander "Xander"


9th - Cooper - more of a name for a pet.





Owen and Dane are great names. They're unique, but not too strange. There probably won't be other kids with the same name in their grade. They will also work well for him at all ages of his life.





Hayden and Talon are nice. I've always liked Hayden, but "ayden" names are becoming very trendy/popular anymore. He would probably get confused with Aidan, Jayden, Cayden, Brayden, etc. Talon's unique. I doubt there will be another Talon in his grade. Torran would also be nice. :-)





Lucas is a nice name, but it's very very popular right now.





Bennett's not bad. He could always be called "Ben."





Jace is okay. It wouldn't be my choice though.





I don't like Xander/Zander. It just doesn't seem like it will age well. It's a little too weird. Alexander with the nickname Xander would be nice though. Then he can choose what he'd like to be known as when he gets older.





I don't like Cooper. I know a few dogs with that name. It just doesn't seem attractive for a human.

Dane -- Cute and short


Xander/Zander -- I prefer the spelling Zander if not short for Alexander


Bennett -- Good strong name and a good alternative to Benjamin


Cooper -- I was told by someone that Cooper and Pooper are too close...bummer!


Owen -- Growing increasingly more popular..


Lucas -- Lucas is adorable but probably wouldn't be the only Lucas in his class


Talon -- This is my favorite, uncommon but still a very good name


Jace -- I've seen this used for a girl name before


Hayden -- Cute, my favorite of the "aiden" trend...but still the aiden trend is out of control!!

Xander - eh, I'm not the biggest fan but it is masculine


Bennett - I think of Pride and Predjudice as that was Elizabeth's last name


Cooper - playful, not super masculine


Owen - good name


Lucas - I like it


Talon - the cooler of the names


Jace - not the biggest fan as it's not really masculine


Hayden - unfortunately it's becoming unisex

I like Cain better than Dane. Cooper and Owen are names of two dogs that I know so I have a hard time picturing them as names for a little boy. Lucas is nice but it's pretty popular. Jace seems a little feminine and I know a little girl named Hayden.
Reply:My husband and I just found out yesterday that we're having a little boy and we plan on naming him Lucas Allen. So obviously I love Lucas. lol.





but I also like Dane.. And its not on your list, but I also like the name Liam. good luck. i'm sure you and your husband will pick out a great name for your little boy!
